Firstly, i decided to build a new lower hull from my parts collection.
Nothing really exciting here, just your standard Tamiya lower hull build from the reissue static Leopard/Gepard kits.
In that last pic you can see the gearbox adapter plate.
The old gearbox will not be going into this new hull. I have used a Tamiya King Tiger gearbox with the adapter plate.

Well this little project has been on my ‘to-do’ list for a while now and i have finally found the motivation to get stuck into it
This Gepard previously belonged to an old customer of mine that sadly passed away at the end of last year. I hope to restore it to its former glory and give it the full RC treatment (not just forward reverse - with no sound).

I have managed to get some more done on her over the last couple of days. Here is where she is at now.
Still a little weathering to touch up on and some more rusting to do.
But she is BATTLE READY
Here's an update on what's happened today.
Hand painted the air recognition stripes and applied the decals.
Onto the washes and dirt tomorrow - she looks to clean for a Russian tank
A quick update on the build guys.
She is all built and ready for paint - battle system installed.
I introduced her to the paint shop yesterday arvo and she is primed up and ready for custom blend of Vallejo Russian Green and Tamiya Olive Green.
Got a bit more work done on her yesterday and today
Test fit the electrics yesterday and fired it up for the first time. Everything worked well
Got most of the upper hull done today so onto the turret tomorrow.
