  1. Thank you PG, Almost all the improvisations are homemade... budget tanking! The Schurzen was a piece of galvanized channeling I cut to shape, and torched some nails onto as hangers.

  8. Having visited the Ardennes in 2009 & seen the relic Panther 111 in Houfallize, I thought I would do a version of what it might have looked like the day before it was destroyed & ended upside down in the Orthue river .

  9. a few months ago i lost my friend of 13 years my (gs) dog vito.. vito had one flaw he hated my rc tanks i would get them out and he would go in his crate. a month or so back i rescued a female german shepherd.. i found out she has heart worm.. well i been dealing with that . it is brutal to a dog , but as of yesterday she us back home. one of the best thing about shawdow is she oves to walk along with my tanks... today i took out my taigen. and drove it a bit , as sick as she was feeling she was matching along side it.. i have not had much time for anything but taking care of

  10. Thanks to the forum admin team I have been able to get photos up. Now I can really get busy in here. I will chuck a few odd pics up to get the practice, and to give an idea of what I have been up to. The Panther was an H/L G modified to become an early D that was used to clear rubble in Nuremburg at the end of the war. The T34 was a build-for-sale representing a machine of the 5th Guards at Cherkassy. Im still getting the method of uploading & the formatting sorted in here, its different to the other forum Im on, like anything, it just takes practice

  11. Also mucked around with a looted table setting and Cognac barrel as stowage, but it’s been made removable so the turret can go 360 if required. The JS is about gun, when an 85mm just ain’t enough, add more gun!! that’s my Taigen JS2 in a compressed thread !! thanks for checking in

  15. Im not a modern tank fan, but these are quite iconic. I imagine in a short time one of the mass production houses will also make one. I know Haya has been working on his for a long time already. Plenty of scope for model builders to get something different. Cost of the typical Tamy will be a limiting factor for many though I expect/.

  19. i bought a heng long tiger 1 almost a year ago .. when i bought it it was the cheapo plastic grey tank.. i upgrade the tracks sprockets idler. that went well. but after being inside it i noticed that i thought the wire was way to thin. to make a long story short, i started to have problems, first it was gun elevation motor, then it was my barrel recoil... so i got my temper up and decided to just replace everything inside the turret that had a wire on it . i did all that , then once again my main gun elevation motor would not work... now i was pissed.. i was about to

  23. your dam right .. i must tell you the problem turned out to be the board a tiny crack.. once i replaced the board in 5 minutes everything was better than new. i am old , i don't like many things today , but these tanks are in a way the only thing that i enjoy , other than my dog.... funny thing is my german shepherd hates the tanks ..

  26. I have the Taigen JS2. Waiting to be customised, but out of the box its a heavy & well built model. The V3 sound module is great too. Cost a lot to get it from Forgebear Tanks in the U.K. but still less than a Tamy version. Will be a while before I get to modifying it, but its a great runner out of the box.

  33. I have the 6.1s and they have all the other features, plus support servos. In the perfect world, H/L would make their next version same as a 6.1s but with a sound card that Taigen have. That way we get the best control options without sacrificing good sound.

  35. Hi I have recently purchased a Heng Long Stug III, but was dissapointed to find, A. The Loaders hatch does not open, despite pics on the Internet, and even on the packaging. B. The mg flashes from the drivers visor! Looks stupid. I took the top off, which is dead easy on this model, only 5 or 6 screws, and I found it was possible to remove the led, and feed in into the gun mantlet. I drilled a hole Approx 3mm in the location where the coaxial gun( when Fitted) was mounted. It is tight but with a piece of thin string taped to the led i was able to route it to the front of the mantlet

  38. Hi , Steve here, I have been building military models since I was 12 which is also when I started working. My builds have been published in Fine Scale Modeler eight times over several years. I enjoy building German Armor the most, as it was the most unique. I build mostly 1/35 and 1/16 Armor and figures and dioramas . I have built and sold 8-10 Tamiya King Tiger tanks over the years as they are easier to acquire. And I like Tamiya the best as I am building it from the ground up and I can easily make modifications. I will get some pictures in the Gallery of past build and the one I

  41. The Open Panzer Project (click above to go to the site) The Open Panzer project is an attempt to design professional, open source electronics for use in RC tanks and other military models. RC tanking is one of the most fascinating corners of the RC hobby today, but also one of the smallest and slowest-growing. It is our hope that making open-source hardware and software available will be instrumental in expanding the hobby and improving the experience for everyone. Open Source is about freedom and choice. It means harnessing the power of the community to make something better th
