Full Member DEBADGE 9 Posted June 17, 2021 Full Member Share Posted June 17, 2021 I SAW A UNIQUE RC TANK ON YOU TUBE I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE ONE FOR MYSELF. RECENTLY I SAW A RC TANK BATTLE VIDEO WHERE ONE OF THE RC TANKS HAD A WORKING FLAMETHROWER.. IT ONLY SHOT A FOOT OR TWO BUT I WOULD LOVE TO TRY THAT. THERE IS NOT THAT MUCH ROOM INSIDE A 1/16 RC TANK TO STORE FUEL FOR THE FLAME THROWER. THEN I SAW OLD WW2 FILM WITH A LIGHT TANK THAT HAD A SMALL TRAILER BEHIND IT . I ASSUME THE TRAILOR WAS FOR THE FUEL. I FIGURE THAT MIGHT WORK...OR A SMALL EXTERNAL TANK JUST 3 OR 4 OUNCES OF LIGHTER FLUID.ON THE REAR OF THE FLAMETHROWER TANK. I WOULD NEED A SMALL DC PUMP.. THE PROBLEM WOULD BE TO NOT MELT THE RC TANK TO A PILE OF PLASTIC. I WOULD LIKE ANY IDEAS YOU HAVE ON HOW TO MAKE THIS WORKABLE, INCLUDING POSSIBLE PARTS AND WIRING. I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT MAKING A DEADLY WEAPON HERE MORE OF A FUN EXPERIMENT
PanzerGrenadier 15
Wow - i flame-throwing RC tank. Sounds cool. Is it the one with the T34 that sounds like its petrol powered? I have seen many vids on YT featuring home made tanks or robots that use Butane as the fuel. Never thought about setting it up myself - i guess you would probably want everything to be metal and not plastic

Full Member DEBADGE 9 Posted July 11, 2021 Author Full Member Share Posted July 11, 2021 i should have listen to you advice about the metal container.. i was able to get a 1/16 trailer and a plastic container.. the plan was to have the tank pull the trailer. to make a long story short my buddy rigged up a old aquarium pump to run off a battery just to test if it pumped. nothing was attached to the tank.. it worked for 4 or 5 sprays.. then it went bad the container caught fire and the trailer.. my buddy thinks there has to be a one way valve.. so the flame doesn't get back into the tank. test was a failure.. but for those first few squirts it was looking good. back to the drawing board.. i'm just glad we didn't run the line to the tank or it would have been very bad..
